The word constitution means the basic principles and laws of a nation, state, or social group that determine the powers and duties of the government and guarantee certain rights to the people in it or a written instrument embodying the rules of a political or social organization. A constitution is always made to keep organization and to bring fairness to the state. This name comes from the verb "to constitute" which means to make up the rules together hence "constitution".
First of all, the first constitution law ever written is the constitution of Medina, also known as the Charter of Medina, this constitution was written by the Islamic prophet 'Mohamed', The precise dating of the Constitution of Medina remains debated but generally scholars agree it was written shortly after the Hijra (Migration of the prophet to Medina) in 622. It constituted a formal agreement between the prophet 'Mohamed' and all of the significant tribes and families of Yathrib (later known as Medina), including Muslim, Jews, Christians and Pagans. This constitution formed the basis of the future caliphate ( the Caliph, and other officials are representatives of the people and of Islam and must govern according to constitutional and religious law, or Sharia).

Moreover, the main objective of the Charter of Medina was to remain concerned of ending the tribal fighting between two clans, "Aws" and "Khazraj" within Medina. The constitution played a big role in maintaining peace in the communities by establishing a big number of rules and responsibilities for each tribe.
Personally, i think that the Egyptian government should write the country's constitution first, and then make the president elections. So that the next president would know his obligations before being elected.
